You can select a reading speed for the DMP funtion.
my question is:
does it matter what speed you choose?
is 1X speed better than eg 48X speed? if so what is a good balance between quality and speed? reading at 1 speed takes an awefull long time.
does the device have any influence on the quality of the DPM? or will any drive do.

Slower DPM speed = better results. But just try at faster speed and see if the copy works. And yes - drive used matters too.

DPM at 1x takes only 5-7 minutes: it isn't a lot of time...anyway, also 4x is good.

@Maelstrom: this means you have a very good device - it supports REAL 1x speed - many devices in fact work at higher speed even if you select 1x. You will get highest quality DPM information in you image but at the cost of long dumping of course.
You can also try to use 2x - most likely your device will support it too. Practically same high quality, bit a bit faster. I think in many cases it is worth waiting if you want to get high quality image.

Yes, the slower speeds are preferable if you want the quality. Not too many drives will go down that slow anymore....
