Re: Call of Duty 2

Cd or dvd version? What burner/s and other reader/s, if any do you have? What protection is used on the original cd/dvd (scan with A-Ray scanner to find out)?

Re: Call of Duty 2

This is exactly how to play a call of duty 2 backup. i laughed when i figured out how easy it was.

1.) Use alcohol 120 to make an image of it. make sure you keep the image on your pc.

2.) Choose skip reading errors on the settings.

3.)Mount the image on a virtual drive(daemon tools, alcohol virtual drive etc.)

4.)Download safedisc 4 hider off gamecopyworld.com, here's the link http://cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cd...isc%204%20Hider

5.)Using safedisc 4 hider click hide and then double click on call of duty 2. And Enjoy!!!

Are you sure? Do a search on the net and you will find other ways to do it.
But its four letter words around this place so I can't talk about it.

Why the point of the forum is to help members get around protection so whats the difference?

Re: Call of Duty 2

I have downloaded alcohol and daemon tools. but when I try to image cd 1 of COD 2 it will not read on 682 and then it just keeps on with the errors. Could it be that my dvd burner is not reading sectors on the disk? I have an NEC ND-3550 16X RW DVD Burner. What model are you using? and could you give me the steps in a little more detail? Thanks

Re: Call of Duty 2

The game is safedisc protected and unreadable sectors are part of the protection. Just be patient and allow the reading process to proceed and complete. Note that the unreadable sectors will all occur in the first ~10,500 sectors after which the reading process will speed up and it will only need another few minutes to read the rest of the cd.

Re: Call of Duty 2

Thanks Philamber. I followed your directions, got the game to work. Shed tears of joy, celebrated, played the game, showed my friends. Then I rebooted my computer later and I'll be *#$%#^%#^ damned if it didn't start asking for the frikin CD again. I followed all your directions, step by step again, and nothin- starts the game, then I click on Single player, then it asks for the CD again. Any clue as to how I screwed it up?

There is a difference between "using a crack" and using your G-d and State-Given right to make a copy of software you buy. This includes games, DVD's, and Music.

By law we are allowed to backup the things we buy, ergo, the need for software like Alcohol which makes a direct copy of your disk (safedisk2 and all I guess)

You know... If a company makes a DVD or CD that I cannot copy? Then I do not want to BUY that CD or DVD.

Now: I had a copy of some game that had that crappy CD DILLA protection on it. Needless to say, I deleted the game, and ultra-deleted the rediculous "protection" software that it installed just to allow the CD to read.

That disk got thrown away: I did not even bother selling it at my yard sale.

I forget what game it was, it was something that was popular about 5 years ago, some FPS.

Unfortunately laws differ, some countries it is not legal to backup your software for archival purposes whereas other countries do not observe copyright period. I don't think God comes in to it :P
