Alcohol Not getting properly uninstalled I installed the trial version of Alcohol, but I didn't do what I wanted it too, so I just forgot about it, but after a while, everytime I stumble over an image supported by alcohol, in the explorer or dc, I get this message about registring alcohol. I uninstalled it, and the message is still there, I even tried a registry cleaner, still with no luck. I must say I don't like this intrusive behaviour one bit. Anyone have a way to remove this annoting message? (other than reinstalling windows).

Re: Alcohol Not getting properly uninstalled C:\Program Files\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120 delete AXShlEx.dll, if you fail to delete it just rename it some different name, then restart windows, goto the same folder and delete the file. As you have uninstalled the trial version you can also remove that folder.

Re: Alcohol Not getting properly uninstalled Pleased i could help, it was a bug in the trial version that that was resolved by replacing the trial version at the time, however there were a few people like yourself who downloaded prior to us realising and replacing the files.

Re: Alcohol Not getting properly uninstalled Another option to avoid reboot. 1. Bring up a command prompt and naviagte to the folder Alcohol is installed to 2. In Task manager, end the explorer process (processes tab) 3. Delete the above mentioned file in the command prompt 4. Again using Task Manager (applications tab this time) select new task and type "explorer" (without quotes)
