Software to recover a poorly written disc? Something automated.

So my parents bought me Voyager, all 7 seasons. Unfortunately there is chinese written on the box and half the discs are labeled "miami vice", while the other half read rather poorly.

I've been using DVD Decrypter as a ripping tool and, while its 50 software/20 hardware retries are usually effective enough I find clicking retry a few times recovers a lost sector. Is there any way to increase the number of retries so I can walk away for a few hours or maybe some other freeware to do this with?

Thanks for your time,
Art

Have you gone in to Tools...Settings of DVD Decrypter? Under the I/O tab it has something about retries. Not sure if that is what you are needing. Hope it helps some.

No, the options for retries are to increase the number of retries: currently max is 50/20.

Thanks for trying though.

I've had success taking files off severaly damaged discs with IsoBuster, but that may not be what you're looking for here.

You could try a different drive to read. Some drives do better than others with different media. Just a thought.
