Slight Pause While Playing Backup

Upon playback of a movie backup there is a slight pause towards the middle of the movie.

I run AnyDVD with DVD Decryptor to rip to hard-drive and use DVD-ReBuilder pro to encode and rebuild my backup.

I've not run into this problem before. Could this pause be attributed to the layer-break on the original DVD? I've ripped many DL pressed discs to DVD-5 and have never had this slight pause before. I put the movie on DVD-5, so there would be no layer-break.

Anyway, not really a big deal but I'm curious as to why this happend. Movie is still totally watchable.

Re: Slight Pause While Playing Backup

what is the brand and model or your burner?
what firmware?
what media? (we need the media ID)
what is the rated speed of the media?
what speed did you burn at?
does the disc have a visible scratch, smudge, or fingerprint?
if you replay the same portion of the disc that skipped, does it happen again?
doe it skip on both your standalone dvd player and when palyed back in your computer?

if you have the latest firmware and use high quality blank media burned at or near it's rated speed (no faster and not much slower) then you should not have any skips or freezing due to burning issues.

you're correct that there are no layer break issues when burning to single layer media simply because there are no layer breaks.

Re: Slight Pause While Playing Backup

Samsung SH-S162L. I have the newest firmware available for this drive. I am using Verbatim DVD+R 16x lightscribe media. Fairly certain I didn't burn too quickly. Created an Iso-image with DVD-RB and then burned with Decryptor's burn fuction. I never mess around with speed settings as I just let the default settings be.
