What burner and software do you have? I ask this since I burned
some files to DVD downloaded from the 'net. Mostly to make them
DVD compliant, you may first encode them using TMPGenc. For this
software,do a search in Yahoo/Google,and the site that offers this should be one of the first results. Good Luck

Yes it is possible, I have done it many times of late. I just posted a tutorial on how to do it and what you will need. Read it at

DVD won't play?

Humm... so I followed the DivX to DVD-R guide and I successfully created the files needed to burn the DVDR.... but after burning the DVDR... it wouldn't play on my (cheap) Apex standalone DVD player, on my PS2 or on my Myron & Davis Car DVD player. The first try was on Ritek media burned with Pioneer A04 with the 1.40 Firmware. I tried a different movie on a Maxell DVDR... same result. Both were burned at 1x.

Both DVDRs play fine on my computer's DVD drive using PowerDVD, but are useless everywhere else... =(

Any tips or suggestions?

thanx in advance!

Dont use Nero 5.5.10.0, it has DVD writting problems, us a slightly older version. I use 5.5.9.0, a friend uses 5.5.9.17 and both work well.

Also some people have problems witrh Nero setting of DVD-Video and selecting DVD UDF/ISO instead helps them.
