Huh!! It's a pause when the player starts reading from a different layer. There are only single layer discs to burn too. there will be no layer change pause because there isn't another layer that can be read.

The layer break is still an issue. As it's somewhere in the file structure, it too, is transferred onto the recordable. Now having just said that, I know that Armin or Olli will come along and say "naw, we got rid of that!"

instantcopy removes the layer break, and i'm pretty sure dvd2one does as well.

I've only shrunk a few movies but I didn't see a break when I watched them.

Whether the presence of the layer break (or discontinuity bit as it's properly known) is a problem to you will depend on your playback device. Software devices like PowerDVD will disregard it, but stand alone hardware players may well pause for a second when they hit it. Even then you may not see it. You may have chosen that very moment to kiss your girlfriend - or boyfriend for all I know, let's be politically correct here.?

Both IC and DVD2One remove it. Shrink doesn't, nor do I think does CloneDVD.

Whatever, this ability should not influence your choice of transcoder since the bit can be removed in IFOEdit. (I posted a step by step guide some time ago and it may still be about if you search).
