Re: Quality

If the burn is not good, playback can be stuttered or freeze in some points

Re: Quality

Hi there

When burning dvd movies, the quality is affected by the following (based on a 4.7GB DVD-R)

* Other languages (only choose the language you prefer)
* Choose either DD or DTS or both, but both will affect image quality
* Subtitles and / or directors commentary (some are huge).

If you want complete one copies, i would get a DL disc (some movies are such high quality (appear as red in quality in clonedvd2), that only DL will resolve this. The DL discs cost around $10 Australian.

Re: Quality

Is it possible to burn an entire DVD (including extra features, subtitles, cast interview, etc) on 4.7gb DVD? im assuming it depends on the length of the movie. I was reading that most people only backup the main movie, not all the features.

Re: Quality

Yes, it's possible. The more you retain on a DVD the more you must compress to fit on a single layer DVD.

If source disc is single layer, then you don't need any compression.

Most people backup only main movie for two main reasons:

1) backing up only main movie is possible to compress lesser the movie

2) some users think that other contents of a DVD is only useless crap and want to get rid ot that
