| Pal 4:3 or 16:9 I have to send a home movie, (no not that kind of movie  ) to Scotland from the US and was going to setup my mpegs for TMPGEnc DVD Author with TMPGEnc Plus. not sure which format to use 4:3 or 16:9 that will play in Scotland on a home DVD player. Any Help? |

| Re: Pal 4:3 or 16:9 Either will play, and Yes even in backwards Scotland! 4:3 (normal) and 16:9 (widescreen) are just the aspect ratio.

| Re: Pal 4:3 or 16:9 I think your confusing PAL and NTSC with aspect ratio. Scotland is PAL, the US is NTSC. But 99% of PAL dvd players will playback NTSC as well so no conversion really needed. Most captures are 4:3 normal TV aspect ratio, so just leave it at that.
