| How to create .Ifo file from single vob ??? Hi all I have a problem.....I download alot of music videos in .vob format, and sofar I have with succes made SVCD Videos (DVD2AVI-->TMPENC--->Nero)...so the Vob's are 100% ok.... Now I want no change in quality and put them directly on DVD.....and then comes the problems : Lets say I downloaded a musicvideo called "Robbie Williams - free.vob"...there's no .ifo file with the vob, and that really makes problems...in all my programs : CloneDVD, DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, Smartripper, DVD2SVCD...no one of them will have anything to do with a standalone vob file........I did try IfoEdit to make new ifo...it also analyses the vob, but says after "Cannot write VTS_01_1.ifo to disk, file is write protected" So...I cannot get the downloaded standalone Vobs to be "recreated" and ready for burn on DVD......And if I have lets say...15 of these kinds of videos...what is the best way to put them on DVD..... What I need is a "create ifo from vob file"..... Help please G. |

| Re: How to create .Ifo file from single vob ??? where are you trying to save the IFO file? you could pay some money and buy an authoring application that allows you to add VOB's but if you want there's a free solution you need to put one VOB in it's own folder and call it VTS_01_1.VOB. Open Ifoedit and click the create new IFO's button. In the 1st VOB of titleset part browse to the VTS_01_1.VOB and select it. Tick the same as source box also and finally click GO you will have then created the IFO's. Do this for every VOB in a new folder (do not overwrite old ones) so you have a collection of VOB's at the end you can then use DVDShrink's reauthor feature and add all the VOB's to make a compilation

| Re: How to create .Ifo file from single vob ??? No need for making IFO's just load as many VOB files that can fill a DVDR into TMPGEnc DVD Author, set up a menu and re-author. Burn out with Nero or whatever.

| Re: How to create .Ifo file from single vob ??? Thanks all for answers...it helped me to make ifo's... But I did not realize how big problems I got from the vob's video and audio format...I have vobs that looks like this : Vob Type 1 : NTSC, AC3 Vob Type 2 : NTSC PCM Vob Type 3 : Pal, AC3 Vob Type 4 : Pal, PCM Vob Type 5 : Pal, PCM (but not standard resolution..its 400 x 576) So...I have vob in all kinds of different video and audio formats....and TMPEnc DVD Author dont like this....It likes exactly same video and audio format.... Any help for this....some told me that DVD Lab....could do better that TMPEnc.. G |

| Re: How to create .Ifo file from single vob ??? You wont be able to mix the NTSC with PAL. Simplest would be to convert the 2 NTSC to PAL (TMPGEnc, MainConcept or Procoder can do that for you). You will need to demux out the Audio from each and convert them all to the same as well, suggest to AC3 for size and compatability (see the Tutorial section on how to do the conversion) MPEG2VCR or VOBEdit can demux out the audio for you. DVDLab should not have a problem with the last Vob (400x576) but if it does, again, reencode to 720x576 with TMPGEnc.

| Re: How to create .Ifo file from single vob ??? Novice Needs Help!!! I'm completely new to burnt DVDs and burning DVDs, so I'm hoping for a little help from you guys... I received a burn of The Office series on a DVD-R disc, but can not play it on my laptop. The DVD contains numerous .IFO files, .BUP files, and .VOB files, none of which my media players seem to want to recognize. What do I need to do to watch this DVD-R disc on my laptop? A general explanation of what these files types are and how they work will be greatly appreciated... thanks! |
