Copy Movie Discuss, Generated MPG is darker then original on DVD at International Chat: Software related forum; Hi I used DVD2SVCD to copy a movie to computer but instead of burning it, I extracted the AVSEQ01.MPG from the resulting BIN, but I notice the image is darker, is there a way to put it equally in brightness to the one on the DVD.

Re: Generated MPG is darker then original on DVD

Did you use the same sofware player to play both the original VOB/DVD files and the produced MPG file ? If not I'd suggest you do so before assumings the mpg is darker than the original.

In DVD2SVCD in the DVD2AVI Tab, I'd suggest you set the Lum. Gain (Contrast) to 3, thata what I have used to produce identical colours & brightness.

I have found changing the Contrast helps more than Brighness, but hey, you use what ever works for you. Just do a series of trial runs on a small clip to see what works for you.

Re: Generated MPG is darker then original on DVD

as Chickenman mentioned, check your Video setting in PowerDVD as it has a few such as Theatre, Original, Vivid and Bright in PowerDVD 4 which is what I use. Maybe one of those produces the same brightness as WMP
