Copy Movie Discuss, DVDMaestro where is it? What happened to Spruce? at International Chat: Software related forum; Reading around the forum I was hopeing to find a link to this DVDMaestro software as it is recommended for reauthoring DVD's. Seems Spruce doesnt exist anymore? What does that mean? Is that the guy who made the software and is he dead or something? Why isnt DVDMaestro available

Spruce, the makes of both SpruceUp and DVDMaestro, was bought out by Apple a year or so back. So far they have not released any new Windows versions but I have heard that will be fixed soon.

thank you

I found that out after another hour of research. Yes, it seems like it would be a good thing to have him back in the pc community. Looks like DVD authoring is easier with a Mac PC? Hard to believe. I am looking for info on where I can "register" my Spruceup software :-)

Greetings. I am a DVD burning newb, having just started my foray into this about a week ago. I have been reading Chickenman's excellent guides in these forums and see that in the guide for backing up DVDs to DVD+/-R, DVDMaestro is recommended for "type 2" DVDs. Is there an alternative to DVD Maestro since I understand it is no longer available? Chickenman, do you have an updated guide that uses an alternative to DVDMaestro?

Thanks,
Aslan
