New DVDFab Plat 5 is on the money and looks great w/that new look and interface. Thnx to Fengtao and you guys for making it possible to enjoy and reap the benefits. No doubt Fab will be ready for HD/Blu-ray when the transition finally comes through.

Re: DVDfab Plat vs. AnyDVD/CloneDVD which is better?

What a yawn much of this is.

Region coding is easily sidestepped on almost any drive by installing RPC1 firmware.

On the fly might be useful if you wanna watch something from your PC, but all decent software players come with built in decrypters anyway. As for OTF for backing up DVDs, it is much faster to run from a rip and takes less wear and tear on your optical drive. (I know some people will disagree with me on this and I wonlt get lured into arguing the point again).

Subtitle transparency is only "just" a feature. I mean, what's the big deal about it?

As the good doctor (Who) says, being able to watch High Def content from a normal (non-HDMI compliant) PC is a big plus, but I question the value for money equation. And dr_ml422, don't look now, but BD has 5%+ of the market. It has "come through".

Most of the DVD to mobile stuff can be done with excellent freeware such as ffmpeg (in fact I suspect this encoder is the backbone of the mobile encoding in these packages). Equally useful and user friendly are freeware products such as AVIDemux, Mencoder, SUPER and DVD Flick. Try different things before you buy expensive mobile encoders with a flashy GUI (and these literally abound, all calling you to their wonderful features at "very reasonable prices" - yeah, right).

DVD splitting, cloning etc. is child's play, again, for free with a multitude of software.

But these packages are nicely convenient for people in search of one-click solutions.

Regards

Hi Blu. I know there's tons of stuff out there to take care of all the essentials regarding digital video and audio. You hit it right on the button. I like the 1 click feature, and i also like to contribute whenever I can as the information and help you guys provide is priceless. So I get to back up my digital video w/Fab, my audio w/another ripper and I let Imgburn do the rest.
