If the original is too big then it just splits it to 2 DVDR's.

It is basically a watered down version of IFOEdit, however much easier to use.

What they mean by 1:1 copies is that it does not re-encode anything, it just takes the movie and then re-authors it onto 1 or 2 blanks. Nothing amazing or special about that.

I've pre-paid for the download.

What people should know - THE PROGRAM REQUIRES ACTIVE ON-LINE ACTIVATION

And the REALLY cool part is you only get THREE activations for your $80.00!

That is, of course, providing the RIAA dosen't have the Courts run 'em out of business first.

OK, ...OK - I'm just a little steamed about it.

Here is the original list they ripped off to create that list: http://members.optushome.com.au/cdromguide/

Also contains DVD's where the entire DVD is too big but the movie will fit without the need to re-encode. ie. just use IFOEdit to strip extras and burn.

Keep in mind though, that the list may not be 100% accurate.

Has anybody been able to download the software yet? I paid for it, but so far no news from the company other than email saying it was delayed until 11/4.

why

why buy that for $80 when ifoedit is free and Derrows DVDsplit and DVDburn coasts $25 for the two of them?

In addition to that Derrow has joined 321studios to fix DVDXCopy for them. obviestly they had fucked things up a bit.

on the outherhand Derrow said it was gioing to be a kickass tool, when he was done with it

More like why are you people even wasting money dropping dimes on the 321 studio hustlers (stealing programs w/o author's consent) when you can do better by converting DVD to DivX for free? Just thought I bring it up if anyone of you are open to suggestions.

hmm

"stealing programs w/o author's consent" that i can not comment, but i trust Derrow and he have proved with ifoedit and vobedit that he knows what he is doing so i bet its gonna be a good progg.

other than that, you can back up DVD to DVDr for free as well and DVD to SVCD and both of them are better than DiVX, MABY but size. imho

In my eyes a 1 disc DiVX dont look good. So i' have to go with 2 discs. But then a SVCD on two discs is as good, and can be played on set top. For me its a clear choise.

It works. I'ev backed up several DVDs on my Sony DRU500A using inexpensive DVD+Rs from Meritline. Previous versions ripped OK, but I had to use ECDC Platinum to actually do the burn as I got errors that aborted the process using DVDXCopy. Version 1.2 rips and burns fine on my system.

DVDxCopy

I've been trying to back up with DVDxcopy and DVD Cloner. DVD Cloner, for some reason won't split the disc. It just asks me to put in the blank DVDr and records. It never asks for a 2nd disc. DVDxcopy worked the first time I ran it, however now it has errors when it tries to burn the first disc.

Any advice??

Thanks again Andros for your help. Have you had any of these problems? Also, how do I burn the discs using ECDC?

DVDxCopy

Well, I thought DVDxCopy was working fine, until I tried to watch a movie with pretty much the hottest girl I've ever seen tonight. Every 15 mins, the dvd player "encounters a problem and has to shut down." This happened in both Windows Media Player 9.1 and in Win DVD4. Does anybody have any advise? Andros? They seemed to have burned fine. I haven't tried watching a "backed up" movie in my regular dvd player yet, but I'm sure I'll have the same problem.

Also, I thought about just copying the files with DVD Cloner or DVDxCopy, and then burning using Nero, but I don't know which order to put the files in? Does it matter? An advice would be great!

Thanks everyone.

Ryan
