DVD Shrink + Nero burn error

Whenever I copy Gankutsuou, I use DVD Decrypter with the plugin for ARccOS to copy it, but when I'm copying it, the first thing I notice is that instead of just coming up with box to let me abort, retry, etc, it just inserts dummy sectors.

Secondly, after getting done with PgcEdit, I go into DVD Shrink and encode and analyze my DVD. It does all of this fine. But, when it gets to the burn part, this is what comes up:

Can anyone help me out? I've seen some similar problems that bring up that window, but they were all talking about a power configuration or something like that.

Other DVD's work just fine. I just made a copy of Big O Disc 3, and it worked perfectly.

No, that didn't help. The same thing came up.

I need it to shrink down to fit on a non-DL DVD. Can DVD Decrypter do that?

On another note, I'm currently in the process of just making my own PLS file for it, so I'm going to see how that goes before I explore my other options.

no. i was talking about burning - if you have problems with Nero, than try DVDDecypter/ImgBurn instead

Oh, okay. Misunderstood you. Sorry.

But, yeah, it still won't burn with Nero from DVD Shrink, and it still gives me an error:

Re: DVD Shrink + Nero burn error

Try saving the files shrink makes to a folder on your hard drive. then burn from the folder with Nero. If you ever had Nero 6.6.1.4 installed and didn't remove it with Nero General Clean Tool you could have problems burning from Shrink to Nero in one step.
A known issue with 6.6.1.4.

Re: DVD Shrink + Nero burn error

Nero has detected a missing file. I guess it's registered in the IFO but doesn't actually exist.

What might work is using IFOEdit to recreate the IFO & BUP files, replacing what's currently in the same folder as the VOBs.

Or try saving the Shrink files as iso and burn with Decrypter or ImgBurn.

Re: DVD Shrink + Nero burn error

why don't you just try DVDfab decrypter to rip the latest movies!!! It has always worked with me.

Re: DVD Shrink + Nero burn error

@wobble: I've never had anything above 6.6.0.3 installed until it was suggested I go to .18. Also, I'm not a fan of updating, hence, why I was still using Nero 6.6.0.3. I figure if something works, why update it, unless I have to.

TimC: thanks. I might try that. I like to know more than one way to get around things, so, that may be useful. Just like the PLS files. Even though it didn't work on this one, at least now I know how to make them.

@bichonn: because I need a free option, mainly. Secondly, I've been using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink for over a year now, and they've served me well.

Re: DVD Shrink + Nero burn error

*cough* Don't know if ya'll have noticed but the Nero log shows that this is pretty obvious:
Quote:
6:43:23 AM #2 DVDREALLOC -21 File DVDVideoCompilation.cpp, Line 1189
Required file 'VIDEO_TS.VOB' is not present
Just copy the VIDEO_TS.VOB over to your ripped files.

Re: DVD Shrink + Nero burn error

As in, go to DVDDecrypter, and copy just that file? Well, here's the thing, that file is already there, so copying it over really wouldn't do much good. It's just not detecting it as there. =/

Re: DVD Shrink + Nero burn error

Did you really follow the 3-step wizard in PgcEdit to rip? Seems like the clean up is not complete if you say the file is already there. How big is the file anyway? As an alternative, you can try DVDFab Decrypter to rip again.

If you have problem with Nero, use Imgburn to burn after Shrink created the iso.
