Re: DVD Shrink Error/Nero

Welcome to CD Freaks.

Unfortunately 6.6.1.4 doesn't communicate with DVD Shrink like it did. There's a patched version of Shrink somewhere around and you never know the new 6.6.1.15 (released today) might work like it used to.

I personally never burn directly from Shrink , much preferring to burn separately with ImgBurn.

Re: DVD Shrink Error/Nero

You can also try to go back to the previous version of Nero.
or
Upgrade to Nero 7. I have Nero 7 and Shrink works with it.

If you have the full version of Nero you could also try Nero Recode which is wriitten by the same author as DVDShrink.

That's also possibility, but remember, milesmac, you must use some software to remove any protection... just for info

Re: DVD Shrink Error/Nero

Re: DVD Shrink Error/Nero

There is also posibbility to add ImgBurn to DVDShrink and burn automatically after process.

http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=63874

It's better than using Nero

Would ImgBurn have any effect on how DVDShrink works with RipIt4Me? I use that occasionally when AnyDVD fails me. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Re: DVD Shrink Error/Nero

No, it has nothing to do with removing protection. You just exchange DVD Decrypter for ImgBurn. RipIt4Me a DVD Shrink will still working like a charm

Re: DVD Shrink Error/Nero

I realize ImgBurn has nothing to do with removing protection. But sometimes software can interfere with other software so I just thought I'd ask.

Thanks.

Re: DVD Shrink Error/Nero

Imgburn is the updated side of DvD Decrpyter's burn engine. You should not have any issues with RipIt4Me.

I've done the firmware, reflash Lite-on drives, uninstalled DVD Shrink and reinstalled DVD Shrink, Nero is at 6.6.1.15a. Would some one fill me in on what else to do?

However, that do not solved you basic problem that why Shrink won't work with Nero6614, try to uninstall Shrink and reboot, reinstall it again see if that works OK.

milesmac- i UNINSTALLED NERO & REINSTALLED IT. WHAT THAT DID WAS ROLL THE UPDATES BACK TO 6.6.0.13. THIS HAS COMPLETELY SOLVED MY PROBLEMS. BUT CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY NERO WOULD PUT OUT AN UPDAIE THAT MALISIOUS?

Re: DVD Shrink Error/Nero

It wasn't a case of Ahead doing anything malicious, it was just that DVD Shrink had been set up to work with a Nero API that Ahead dropped in 6.6.1.4. That's something they are quite entitled to do.

I believe that 6.6.1.15 corrects this situation.
