| Re: dvd shrink error message crazyhead, This thread is a year old. Only Dr. Frankenstein can give dead creatures life. Suggest next time you start your own thread. and give some information ... Are you using shrink also? what does your error message read? every disk you put in your drive(?) ... that's hard to fathom. Are they all new movies? Name the movies. You give no information, but I suspect your issue is different from pamhegs's (hope he is still alive after all this time) because there was no Macrovision RipGuard that long ago. He may really have been experiencing memory issues if his 6 episodes have a high GB size. Yes, I believe I know what your problem is but I could be wrong ... because you posted no information. But if you are getting an out of memory error from shrink, I believe that error is caused because it can't handle the Macrovision RipGuard (or similar protection) on the movie. Shrink is no longer updated to deal with newer protection schemes and Slysoft has been trying to keep up with workarounds to keep it's users who also use shrink happy. But it is a loosing battle from your end. The kind of protection that causes this error is not simple CSS. The DVD is purposely manufactured with a "mastering defect" with bad sectors. The DVD plays fine on a player. But in a computer's DVD drive, it is made to mess up backup software by not having a typical navigation structure that, for instance, shrink is looking to find. Shink gets confused and gives you the error. Are you using AnyDVD? Version 5.9.1.1 or newer should resolve the issue Quote:
Fix: You should be using AnyDVD v.5.9.4.1 which is the most current. If that doesn't fix your shrink issue, do your backup with CloneDVD. It is updated to deal with structural protections. Use it instead. Whisperer | |

| Re: dvd shrink error message If you have AnyDVD - there is a new tool in that application that will solve your problem. After that there should be no problems to import the files into DVD Shrink. |
