you did leave info out. please post your system specs also brand and firmware of dvd burner. also, does it ONLY happen when using dvd shrink? have you tried to copy and burn the dvd using different burning software? are all the fans working inside your case? burning is a pretty hot job for some systems and overheating can cause freezing and rebooting. also, od you know what the wattage is on your PSU? could be a faulty or insufficient power supply as well.

| Re: Dvd shrink causing my system to reboot I just went thru a 4 day hell with this same issue. I bet there is a hardware device you havent installed yet. You are probably getting a bad _pool_ caller error which has to do with hardware not being installed. For me it was my wifi card and the onboard audio which I needed to disable. Let me know if this was your problem. |

| Re: Dvd shrink causing my system to reboot Thanks for the replys everyone! I am using a nec 3500 with the latest firmware, I didnt try to copy the files from Daemon to my harddrive yet, because it was working fine before, the only thing I have changed is my memory(upgraded to 1gig) other than that eveything is the same, and I still getting the same problem after a fresh windows install. also I didnt try any other dvd software, I have only used dvd shrink for backups any ideas? anyone? |

Iam afraid to say Ux-3 you were right!, the only thing is I upgraded to dual 512MB chips instead of just adding another 512 chip. But taking one of the new chips out did the job! I guess this foxconn MB can not really take 1gig of ram, it could also be that this small case has all the wires next to the Ram slots either way I got my fix, thanks every one for your input
