DVD Cloner 5 with Optiarc AD-5170A

Hi,

I'm trying to back up my DVD's but i'm running into problems.

I've ripped an episode from a D-9 disc onto my HD with DVD CLoner 5. I'm now trying to burn that file, which is a folder containing a video_ts and an audio_ts file. These play fine on my PC with Roxio Cineplayer. I'm using this media:
http://svp.co.uk/product/verbatim_dv...3550)_3653_box

Everytime I try to burn this disc the software reads the disc then says "The current DVDR/RW does not support your set burning speed(6.0x). Please choose a burning speed from the below list." This contains the speeds 6.1,5.1,4.1,3.1,2.0 & 1.0. None of these work! It then says Burning failed!

I'm using firmware 1.11. Would this be the cause and if so which firmware would you recommend I flash to? Any help appreciated. And yes I am a newbie

Welcome to the Forum.

Please specify what type of burner do you use.
And just a remark, forget DVD Cloner and try to use other, reliable, working software.
The medium you mentioned TY is one of the best ones, btw.

According to my invoice sheet (which is sometimes open to interpretation re the supplier of my PC), it's an NEC AD5170-0B. If there is a way to ascertain the exact model i'm not sure what it is.
I thought DVD Cloner was one of the best DVD copy tools. Well according to DVD software reviews site it was anyway. I might have read on here somewhere that they have vested interests in certain companies though. Which software would you recommend?

Yes they do I have seen those sites.

Try DVDFab 30 day free trial. (Payware)

Or try ripit4me. (Freeware) but no longer up dated

AnyDVD is very good. (Payware)

Google ImgBurn and download a copy (freeware). Install it and stick a blank disc in your drive and then start ImgBurn. ImgBurn will tell you everything you need to know about your drive, the firmware your drive is using and give you your media name and code. If you are unsure on how to read the information ImgBurn gives you post it in your thread and someone will help you

Cheers
