Nero is all you need for CDs and DVDs.

It took me a while to see it too.

When you open Nero, in the new compilation window, right beneath the words "New Compilation" choose DVD.

Bmad, excuse me for asking, but why did you get a burner with no software? It's like getting some corn flakes with no milk!!! Was it a Sony, and did you actually buy it. I'm not trying to be funny, but that
sounds just a tad strange, unless you got
the bare Pioneer drive for just over $200
Let me know all about it when you can, peace

Though this question is more appropriate in DVD Hardware Forum, the short answer is no. Return your MP5120A if possible and buy a NEC ND-1100A if available.

Ricoh MP5120A: 2.4x DVD+RW
Ricoh MP5125A: 2.4x DVD+RW, 2.4x DVD+R
NEC ND-1100A: 2.4x DVD+RW, 4.0x DVD+R

Nero Problems

I have VOB files, which I want to burn to make a DVD using Nero. It doesn't support VOB files. Am I missing something?

It DOES support .VOB files, but they have to be within a 'VIDEO_TS' folder,as does Record Now. Those files CAN'T be burnt
correctly if the structure of the VOB files is not a part of that folder. An analogy to help you understand, a building can't stand without a foundation. hope this helps
