i have just purchased a ricoh mp-5125a-dp, and would like to know what software i should use to backup my dvd's.

Maybe there are already software copies bundled with your MP5125A. Nero Burning Rom seems to be most popular for DVD recording.

Nero won't back-up protected dvd's

you should use

-dvdcloner
-moviejack
-davideo dvd
- dvdxcopy

or the freeware

dvd2dvd-r ( dvd-r means recordable not the "min" type, it also burns + and rw)
