Hello

I'm trying to do a backup of "Brotherhood of the Wolf" and having a problem with the menu section. I'm using the following:

DVD Decrypter to rip
DVD Shrink to shrink and encode
Tsunami DVD Author to burn
Using Maxwell DVD-R's and a LG 4163b burner.

I'm ripping in file mode. In shrink I'm doing a re-author to get the "extras" out while leaving everyting else alone except for the french audio. Everything seems fine and the movie plays perfect when it does play. It's just I can't get a cursor to move around in the menu section. I hit menu button and I get "this feature might be unaccessable on this dvd". Also the "sub-title" feature stays on since I can't access the menu to turn it off. Any idea what's missing?

If you wish to preserve the original menu functionality, do a full disc backup!
Reauthor strips the menu's.

as was already mentioned, using dvdshrink's reauthor mode removes functionality of the menus. you'll need to either use a transcoder that removes video while doing full disc backups (such as clonedvd) or use a separate program (such as vob blanker or dvdremake) to remove unwanted video before running the dvd through dvdshrink.

Thanks guys. I was afraid of something like that. The only reason for the re-author was 1400 mb of "extras" I was wanting out to bump up the compression %. I'll do one and post back.
