Copy Movie Discuss, Blades of Glory and Ripit4me at International Chat: Software related forum; I am having trouble ripping Blades of Glory (Region 1) with Ripit4me. It seems to go ok, but reports 3 alleged scratches on disc and tells to clean. I cleaned disc, still a problem. So exchanged dvd. Still gets scratch report. DVD kind of plays, bit its starting is sporatic.

Re: Blades of Glory and Ripit4me

no problem with my DVD with 1.7.1.0, did a M&M J2M and full DVD J2M and both play great. Original IFOs were dated June-14-07 1:14AM with a CRC32 value of 0xFBE38B26

Re: Blades of Glory and Ripit4me

Remove the < and > from the DVD title for the destination directory and then do it

And get 1.7.1.0, the latest version

JM is telling you to remove the " < > " signs.

OR, tell you what, just delete the title thats given, and retype: Blades of Glory

Go here for latest version:

maybe on your version and I got the scratched message on The Queen and it played great. Are your IFO dates and CRC32 value the same as mine?

Re: Blades of Glory and Ripit4me

I create a new folder with the movie's initials as the destination directory, every time out.

Re: Blades of Glory and Ripit4me

I had no problem with the widescreen R1 version using RI4M. The Tray cycled about 3 times, (2times during VTS08_5). I did not get the "clean the disc" thingy, but ripper slowed down, thenup, then down somewher around the layer break and then a little later. I re-ripped and changed the rip speed to 8x and things went a lot smoother.
You may have a bad/marginal pressing or you need to lower your rip speed to say 8x or slower. And yes you have to delete the < > from the title to save to target directory.

Re: Blades of Glory and Ripit4me

Slightly trickier than yor average rip, but RI4M did just fine.
Don't need anydvd, at least for R1R4.
VOBBlanker took care of all the carp.

Re: Blades of Glory and Ripit4me

There are at least 2 different versions of this release in R1 with different IFO dates and CRC32 values. My DVD has IFO dates of 6-14 the other has 6-18

@big dogdavey: Please give us more information:

1- what region is DVD?
2-what software and software version are you using to rip?
3-what do you mean "it does not work"?

I ripped it (movie only) with r4m, processed with Shrink (though it didn't need it) and burned it with Decryptor. When r4m gave me an error message, I just told it to continue processing anyway and I got a passable copy, though not as good as AnyDVD/ CloneDVD usually does. Tried it with DVDFabHDDecryptor and it was more than a 1/2 gig smaller with noticeable VQ loss, but it did work.
