Best ripping software

Greetings
I'm looking for the best DVD-ripping software as Moviejack doesn't work... I'd most appreciate it if it was completely in English and does NOT require the ASPI drivers because everytime I install it it doesn't work

Thanks

best ripping softy

best ripping softy is DVDdecrypter, imo.

There are no good software that does ripping, resizing and the rest in one. You'll have to work it its not a DVD5.

I have DVD Decrpyter installed actually.. seems alright, it extracted the VOB files, and I wanted to know a good program also to make it into MPEG-2 files..

One other question, what's the TV standards for US? NTSC?

cladDVD XP for me. Much much easier to use than virtually all other rippers out there. Available from the source @ CloneAD

I'd consider converting DVD to DivX instead of MPEG-2 since it's faster, takes less space, and looks just as good if not better. But if you insist, TMPGEnc is the way to go.

yes

yes.
DVD is MPEG2. Not all players like SVCD, take a look at vcdhelp.com at the players list. its'll say if your player does, moast do. If yuou cant find your player test, there are test files on VCDhelp too, just burn and try. Outher than the player dont like (S)VCD, it can also be a media issue.

tradeburner: Am I correct in assuming the duo would also be the best for regular vcds?

Absolutely. For SVCD or DVDR conversions, DVD2SVCD with CCE is THE best. Produces m2v file DVD compliant, plus the AC3 stripped out, rename them and load into SpruceUp to auther, then burn with Nero, etc. Simple, fast and top quality.
