Sony DVD burners

Hi All

I was recently going to do a trade with somebody and I said my preference was for DVD-R. Being new to DVD burning I cannot understand the reply I got, well I can, but I would like clarification.

He told me that his Sony internal burner could read DVD-Rs but could not burn them.

Is this correct? if it is then I feel the DVD-R, DVD+R issues that I read about could go on for ages.

Thanks for your time.

Re: Sony DVD burners

It depends which sony burner it is, some sony burners can burn and read both formats.
