It looks like there is already quite good patched firmware and tool support for Nec drives, so there does not seam to be any need for MCSE to support the NEC drives.

Re: MediaCodeSpeedEdit tool for DVD-Writers

ala42, I have a BTC 1016IM with firmware A07R. Any chance this firmware might be supported in the near future?

http://www.btc.com.tw/drivers/zip/dv...6&A07R_MCU.EXE

Thanks.

The +RW table displays nonsense for the speeds, the end of one -R table is not detected correctly, so 23 -R code display wrong speeds. Did you see any problem with the +R and -RW tables ?

Re: MediaCodeSpeedEdit tool for DVD-Writers

The -R speed tables for A07R should also be ok, just ignore the single entry starting with Uü.

Re: MediaCodeSpeedEdit tool for DVD-Writers

I just noticed that it wasn't "supported" in the notes with the tool and that the +RW was messed up, so I didn't know if I could trust the rest to be accurate. So the +R speeds should be valid?

Yes, they should, but I am not shure if simply increasing the write speed will work with BTC firmwares, the neccessary write strategies might be missing. Renaming the media codes so a slower media will impersonate as a faster will work.

Re: MediaCodeSpeedEdit tool for DVD-Writers

I just received today my spindle of 100 4x dvd-r TY's MID=TYG01. My Benq with U9fw can only burn them at 4x. I went and used your MCSE tool and selected that id and check all the speeds above 4 and flashed and still no luck, I can only burn them at 4X. Am I doing something wrong? is there another strategy I can use to overspeed burn these TY's with great quality? I appreciate any info!! thanks!!

Re: MediaCodeSpeedEdit tool for DVD-Writers

U9 won't overspeed -R 4X media, T9 does. (see somwhere above. experienced by me too)

TY G02 strategy works great for G01 on B7T9 + MCSE.
