Re: MediaCodeSpeedEdit tool for DVD-Writers

I tested with various DVDs ( region 1 and 4 ) and the patch with H44N and the RPC-2 auto reset works perfectly.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the first RPC-1 patch available for Sammy S202/3 ... about to find out if it works.

Thanks again ala42!

RPC-1 patch works on SH-S203B, Nero InfoTool says Region Code: n/a and region 1 and 2 discs both play ... Thanks Mr.Shine!

And the +RW speed issue is confirmed fixed.

In this version Help/About claims support for, among others
"Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-112L 8.22"
Does this firmware actually exist?
I can only find 8.21.
If it does please could you tell me where I can download it.
TIA

No, there is no 8.22 firmware yet. When 1.22 was released about five month ago, I also enabled the 8.22 version assuming it would apear as usual some days later.

Hi ala42,

Please can you add support for the Pioneer DVR112D 1.22 firmware?

AFAIK that's been in for some time. It's just not listed in some of the documentation.

It's certainly listed in Help/About in MCSE 1.1.0.10.

Re: MediaCodeSpeedEdit tool for DVD-Writers

ala42

version 1.1.0.10 reads SH-S203P firmware incorectly, it claims MCC-004 to be 4x only. It also claims MCC-03RG20 to be 2x only.

something is not right.

Thanks for reporting. Probably the speed table is not detected correctly.

Re: MediaCodeSpeedEdit tool for DVD-Writers

I am new to all this patched firmware so please bare with me. I am having bad result with the new batch of Mitsubishi brand MCC 003 with my Liteon LH-18A1P. Look around in this forum somebody suggest changing the writting strategy for MCC 003 to MCC 004 will gain better result. I suppose to use Omnipatch but everytime i load a firmware it says firmware type not supported. I am using Codeking GLOJ-fb-eos firmware with .exe. So i use xflash utility to convert it to .bin and still it doesn't load.

So i switch to MCSE and load the .exe. But when i double click on the MCC 003, it will ask me to select a media code writting strategy to replace MCC 004, and after that it says MCC 004 will no longer supported. So i am curious if the MCC 003 will use the MCC 004 writting strategy? And what happen to MCC 004? Will it use the Stategy for MCC 003 instead? Or it won't be recognize at all? How if i want both MCC 003 and 004 to use the same strategy together, instead of strategy swapping, if thats what it does?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, it will use the strategy you have selected, which is the MCC 004 write strategy.

No, as all unsupported media codes it will use the default strategy.

The swapping mechanism used with Liteon firmwares does not allow to use the same write strategy for several media codes.

Thank you very much. Thanks for the answer and this fanstastic tool. Guess i will have to burn MCC 004 with another writter then. Oh, how about BenQ, is BenQ 1620 able to use the same straegy for several media codes?

Awesome, this means 112/212 owners can use 1.22 firmware with bitsetting, which fixes the lack of 8.22.

Another wish would be to set Samsung 202/203s to default to bitset since it doesn't stay set ...
