| dvd burning freezes pc Newbie, so go easy  Gigabyte K8VT800 MB, Athlon XP64 3000+, XP Pro, 1.5GB Ram. My Sony DVD RW has stopped writing DVD's after I replaced HD because of failure. Will write CD's & read DVD's but when I try to burn data/movies the system freezes. I tried another DVD in the machine and the same problems occur. Any ideas? |

| Re: dvd burning freezes pc Hi homer, Welcome! I would first check hpw many processes/ programs you have running at the time you are trying to burn. Your system specs look good enough, so it would seem that there is a lot of unnecessary things running in the background that would be causing the system to hang. regards, katzz  |
