| Burning 8x or higher rated media on a 4x burner? I have almost finished my old supply of 4x Taiyo Yuden dvd-r discs. I am going to order myself a new 16x writer and some 8x Taiyo Yuden dvd-r's soon. My question is, will the 8x media be ok to use on my Sony DRU-500AX 4x burner?? Will it be a similar case to the 1x/2x recorders not being able to burn properly using 4x media without a firmware update OR should I be ok with the 8x (or higher) discs in the 4x burner? I would rather not have to buy 4x media just to be able to use the Sony (giving this to my brother to use).
