Please Help: Atapi Dvd A Dh20a4p Scsi CdRom Device - Club CDFreaks

I have ATAPI DVD A DH20A4P SCSI CdRom Device
I tried to burn dvd with nero, ashampoo etc with all kinds of programs but i cant burn.
@nero it says disc-at-once failed
do i need firmware updates or what ?
I searched this forum and found 20A4P.9P54.stock firmware but it says
This Firmware is only for a ATAPI DVD A DH20A4P ???
mine is also ATAPI DVD A DH20A4P SCSI CdRom Device
I am really stuck please help me

I think that Marvell Virtual Device is a RAID array. If you are not running a RAID array, go into your BIOS and see if you can disable the RAID functionality.

Specifically, do you know what motherboard you have? Or what system do you have?

If at all possible, update the drivers for all your IDE and SATA controllers. For whatever reason, the PATA DH20A4P is being recognized as an SATA device. Also, Nero is reporting your DMA is disabled.
Updating drivers for the SATA and/or IDE controllers may fix this.

Also, you have the right idea of trying to update the firmware, but there is a special way you have to do it. Long story short, you have NPxx versioning firmware, and the LiteOn flasher is looking for 9Pxx versioning. Update your firmware using the 9P54 stock you found along with the Flash Utility [one of the Read Firsts in this forum]. Open Flash Utility, click Read Flash, and type in a filename to back up your current firmware. Let that finish, then click Write Firmware, find the 9P54 stock .EXE file you downloaded, select that, and flash away. You should end up with 9P54. Reboot, and try again.

ok when writing comes to 30% it says Error Writing FLASH to Drive!
and my dvd rom dissapears from My Computer and Device Manager... :S

Oh, dear. The drive is dead, but can be recovered in your computer or another computer in DOS mode. Did you backup your firmware?

We'll get back to the issue with the drive in Windows after we get the drive back alive.

BTW, how is the drive connected? As in, is the drive set as Master or Slave, and is the PATA cable used to connect it old or new?

Normal. Nero only detects DMA state with Atapi.sys.

No. Not at all, unless the controller the drive is connected to, can be operated with Windows-built-in generic driver (atapi.sys).
