Re: ASUS DRW-1608P2 Firmware v 1.37

I picked up this drive only to flash it to a pioneer 110, because it was cheaper. There is FW available for this drive by a company called Buffalo, which allows bitsetting a +R disc to -ROM, and can also enable DVD-RAM. I requires crossflashing the drive with a program called DVRflash (version 2.2).

If your interested in these features here are some links. Make sure you fully understand what your doing (read the included txt files):

http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?t=36788 (the first version will allow bitsetting and RAM)

edit: You should probably figure out why your drive is not accepting a flash before you try to cross flash it

Re: ASUS DRW-1608P2 Firmware v 1.37

If this error comes by using the offical flasher from ASUS !NOT Pioneer!, then your drive must have a patched firmware on.

Your drive is ASUS OEM, you cannot use the official Pioneer flashers.

ONLY 3rd party flashers like DVRFlash or DVRUpdate will allow this.
