Re: My very first DVD scan

Hi
Look pretty similar too me. (See attached).
Although I have to admit, I am not sure what you mean by "vista it gives that little snap shot thingy ".
DiscSpeed is probably meant to replace CD/DVDSpeed at some point. Maybe it is called DiscSpeed to allow for Bluray scanning without having the title CD/DVD/BDSpeed etc.

Re: My very first DVD scan

The difference is under the hood . It's not just the name. The filesize of DiscSpeed is bigger than CD-DVD Speed.
and BTW WTF is a quality scan.

Hi
I was trying to avoid the technical stuff.
But yeah thanks anyway.
It is part of the reason why CD/DVDSpeed is the better option for now at least.

Re: My very first DVD scan

How come my version doesn't have them fancy additions like TA jitter and advanced disc quality?

Hi
The advanced disc quality tab is related to BenQ drives.
If you don't have one you shouldn't see this tab.
The TA Jitter is Lite-On related, but maybe here only some of their drives support it. Just guessing here.

TA Jitter with LiteOn DH-20A4P works only with CD-DVD Speed 4.7.7.16
I doesn't work with DiscSpeed. I mean there is no TA Jitter tab.

yeah i kinda figured. Lin was telling you what to get but no info on which one to get. But hey it's all good now.

Actually i have to use Nero's aspi.dll in the same folder to make it work with Vi$ta Ultimate 64 bit. Some use frog aspi. Then i make a short cut from that folder for my desktop and rename it.

Also throw a disc in and click on the Disc Info tab for disc information MID=Media ID codes. Will work if you get some OD brand blanks or whatever.

Re: My very first DVD scan

More PIF's but none of them to 5 like the 4x burn. That's why the quality score is better. Maybe 12x burn will be the sweet spot.
