Windows XP Corrupts CD-RW File System

I often transfer files between two Windows XP machines using CD-RW discs. A couple of times now I've ran across the problem where Windows will complete its CD Writing Wizard and eject the disc, but if I reinsert it the disc can't be read correctly. I ran across one such disc tonight. CD Speed gave this result for the CDRW (CD Speed was apparently able to read the disc well enough to run this test...)

It's interesting that there are supposedly blank areas in the middle of the CD -- is that normal? Whatever the problem is, it corrupts the CDRW...I'm hoping that a low-level format will fix it, but it's a bit troublesome that this happens...any ideas on how to prevent issues like this (other than just not using XP built-in burning software)?

Thanks.

Yes, disable the XP burinig software. It is Cr*p. It will interfere with other burning programs. It is a very crippled adaptec product put in XP to make all the innocents think they have great built-in proggies. Really just a lousy craplet. Use Nero.
