Below is a reply to my DMA - WinXP problem and it not only solve my DMA problem, but the same problem that you have - (052602)
error. Of course, I'm assuming that you have Win XP. My 40125S
is using firmware ZSON.

"Go under device manager and ide controllers. Go into the ide ata/atpi controllers section. Delete all of the entries (should be 3 of them). Do not worry, you will not hurt anything.

After deleting the ide controllers--the ata controller and the 2 ide channels. Goto to action and scan for new hardware. This will reset your ide controller and should fix your problem. Furthermore, do not install the latest ata controller from intel site, as this will not allow you to set your mode, the option is no longer there.

If you did install the ata controller from intel, by deleting and scanning for new hardware, you will get the choice of which version to install. You WANT the driver dated 7/01/2001 version 5.1.2600.0 which came with Windows XP installation. the publisher is Microsoft Windows XP Publisher.

This happend to me quite a long time ago, and this is how you resolve it. "
