| Need to burn 2 audio tracks and a dvd track on a CD ok, here's the problem. I need to make a regular audio CD ( 2 song tracks) and the band wants to put an extra dvd track on it. How to do it ? I'm on Roxio toast, and as far as I tried all different settings, my "master" CD plays only the audio track portion on a dvd player. Is it possible to mix audio and a dvd section on a CDR ? I made some discs in the past, containing audio tracks (for a CD player) and a video (mpeg) section to view on a pc without problems. thanks |

| Re: Need to burn 2 audio tracks and a dvd track on a CD Putting audio tracks and some MPEG video files onto a CD is simple. In most situations, however, you'll need to access the video using a computer. Just use a CD-Extra or standard multisession format layout for your disc. But a CD is not a DVD. You cannot create a "DVD Track" on an audio CD that will allow the video to be played on normal DVD players.

| Re: Need to burn 2 audio tracks and a dvd track on a CD thanks for the fast reply. So If I understand correct: I can view the dvd (written as an extra on the audio CD ) on my PC. That's what I was able to, but my dvd software player asked to point to the video TS folder, then I could play the DVD. Is that the normal procedure ? |

| Re: Need to burn 2 audio tracks and a dvd track on a CD Remember: A CD is not a DVD A DVD is not a CD. If you want to do the VIDEO_TS business and such you are burning on DVD-R, DVD+R, etc. If you want to make an audio CD then you are burning on CD-R or CD-Rw. You can't put these DVD components onto a CD and expect them to work. It's much more than just burning a VIDEO_TS folder. The track has to be written in a specific UDF file system. I have never actually tried it but I strongly suspect that the ability to write such a filesystem as a session on a multisession CD whose first session is CDA is simply not possible. And even if you did somehow build a working DVD-video format section into your CD, do you think all DVD players would accept it? No, they'd probably just default to playing the Audio tracks. IMO, the only way you can do this on one disc is to use standard computer video files on the non-audio part of the disc and play it on the computer.
