I have LightScribe but due to dics cost, I usually use inkjet printable, so I wanted a program that would do both. I download tried trial and then bought Surething Labeling SW From:

Re: Lightscribe Label Download

Just wanted to add what I've discovered to this thread;

If you are talented enough to create your own images you can add them to the lightscribe simple labeler program.

A Save the image as a png file 2773x2773x8Bpp is the default size. put it in the images/borders/ folder of the lightscribe program. C:\Program Files\LightScribe\SimpleLabeler\content\images\borders\ is the default path.
Rename the file to fs000##.png so it is in sequence with the rest.

B Open and edit one of the xml files in the \metadata\ folder and give it the name of your image where it says <name>****</name>, then save it as md000##.xml to match the number of the image file you just created.

C Create a thumbnail in the /thumbnails/ folder 86x86 pixels is the default size, just resize your image to fit and name it th000##.png so it shows up in the list.

Open your lightscribe simple labeler program and it should show in the list of images.

Poof! you got a way to put all your custom labels onto CD without the expensive "lightscribe enabled" software.

Re: Lightscribe Label Download

Was checking out BlindMelon's post and it works just fine.

Also figured out that you can permanently add any graphic you want without altering the origional 8 by doing the following.

Convert the jpg, bmp, etc to the png format, create a new file name for all three categories keeping the same number of characters for the name (example:js00009.png or js00010.png, md00009.xml or md00010.xml, th00009.png or th00010.png).

When you have completed the creation of the three files, the new graphic shows up in the program, you should notice a scroll bar on the right of the graphics if you did it correctly.

To create the metadata file, just copy one of the old ones to a new name (md00008.xml to md00009.xml) and edit the name portion as described in Blindmelon's post.

Blind gave a good description of how to create the thumbnail too. So put the two of these posts together and you will be able to get the job done.
