Easy CD Creator 4 + XP

I installed Easy CD Creator 4 on XP and it wouldn't work right. I didn't know that you had to have an update for it. But Roxio wants you to pay for the update to it, so I'm not going to bother. I uninstalled everything and now every time XP starts it gives an error in the system tray that it has disabled drivers from the recording software. I have downloaded Nero and it works fine, and the built in burning works fine. I just want to know how to get rid of this message every time Windows starts.

This is the exact message it is giving me if it helps.

CD Recording Software
Roxio, Inc.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Issue Description:

A CD-recording driver is installed that might cause stability problems, including problems shutting down and problems using a CD/DVD drive. This driver will be disabled.
This driver might have been installed by Easy CD Creator, Windows Media Player or RealJukebox. You might not be able to record CDs until you obtain compatible drivers.

I see two ways, you may have to do both.

-Go to the Control Panel, under Administrative Tools, select Services, find "IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service," then switch it to disabled from manual/automatic.

-Go to Start, then Run, then type "msconfig", go to the Startup tab and uncheck which ever one you think belongs to EasyCD. Like a .exe file that is rooted in EasyCD's directory. If there doesn't appear to have one, then either forget it, or if the above step doesnt work, try unchecking all of em, and restart, if the problem isn't solved, check em all back again.

Last thing to do is to erase all of EasyCD's entries in the registry. I can't remember this on the top of my head, so try the two steps above first, hopefully that'll solve the problem. Good luck.

This error is caused by the incompatibility of EZCD Creator 4 with WinXP.

To get instructions on how to fix it, go to "CD Recording Software Will Cause Windows to Become Unstable" Error Message When You Start Windows
