Ddump produces 750 MB file from 650 MB disc

Hi everyone,

I just tried to dump an image of GTAIII (Play disc) using Ddump so that I could burn a backup copy, but when the dump finished the ISO was 752 MB. I checked the original CD, and it is only ~650 MB.

Is this some side effect of the disc copy protection? If so, how do I dump a proper image?

I just used the default options in Ddump.

original data cd is 650MB of data

the ISO you created is the original data (650Mb) plus the lead-in, lead-out and the TOC.
so the ISO is always bigger then the original data you see. when you browse the cd in explorer explorer dont show the size of the lead-in lead-out and the TOC of the cd.

so your dump is just fine

Discdump creates a raw image of the cd which will be about 19% larger than the size of the original cd.

Don't worry, as Maelstrom said, your image is fine and will fit on a 650mb cd when burnt.
