Burning Software Discuss, Cyclic Redundancy Error in DVD Shrink at International Chat: Software related forum; I have copied many DVDs using DVD Shrink before, but occasionally it starts and then pauses and says a cyclic redundancy error has occurred and it cant be copied. I was wondering if anyone had any idea if i can fix this and if so, how... thanks

Re: Cyclic Redundancy Error in DVD Shrink

This happens with some copy protections and when the dvd can not be read.

clean the source disk - it may be dirty or a bad original

Re: Cyclic Redundancy Error in DVD Shrink

I get this quite often as well. What I do is save the movie in .iso and then load with daemon tools and shrink as usual with DVD Shrink.

Re: Cyclic Redundancy Error in DVD Shrink

I have the same Data Error Cyclic Redundancy Error using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. The DVD almost new and is spotless.

Some DVD's can't be ripped or need special CRACKing code s/w. I used a piece of s/w before but have a new computer and lost the files...thought I could find them in the forum....

It's best to have several DVD-RW's on hand for this situation. Take it back and get another?

Re: Cyclic Redundancy Error in DVD Shrink

If you have cleaned dvd's. Try using the program on another machine. I have found that if the dvd is clean it is usually an optical issue with the player. I had this error and moved it to one of my other machines using clone software and it burned perfect. I purchased a new DVD player for the computer that was causing the error and it stopped, the new burner burned the disc.
