| burn Taiyo Yuden 16X DVD -R discs at only 4X speed? HELP!  Why does my Pioneer DVR-A08 burner burn Taiyo Yuden 16X DVD -R discs at only 4X speed?I use to use Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD +R discs which burned at 16X speed. I'm baffled, and have yet to call Pioneer. Thank you. |

| Re: burn Taiyo Yuden 16X DVD -R discs at only 4X speed? Probably because the firmware doesn't support the Taiyo Yuden 16x DVD-R (TYG03) media which is newer than the drive is. Look at Pioneer's website for a possible firmware update to include support for this media. If no such update exists, you will have to live with the 4x burning speed, get some other media, or get a new DVD burner.
