| It would have been helpful if you posted the existing drivers. This is where you cut off the log. The burn is failing at the finalization point. This can happen when recording in TAO. Some combinations of recorder and media have trouble reading the Program Memory Area (PMA) where the TOC is kept. Try recording in DAO instead. Also try a different good quality media. |

| You're welcome. If that's the complete log, don't worry about it. There are usually other drivers listed that may be causing conflicts. I thought you were recording in TAO because at 40 seconds into the burn, the log states: Quote:
![]() I would still try a different media. | |

| Hi , no it's not a Disk-At-Once , i try to burn a ISO cd not a audio , the problem occur either with a Verbatim CD-RW or a Kodak CD-R but i just try to burn only small file and that work now.. , i remember that in fact this problem come when the size of the data i want to burn is almost too big , i saw just before the burning start a message who say " you don't have enough place on this CD to burn this except if you choose to finalize this cd whould you like to finalize this cd ? " then i say ok , in fact i have burn some CD who have a limit size but before yesterday i never have this problém .... is that mean that i cannot burn anymore limit size CD-R ??? i have to verify that the problem is only with big file , i burn now another CD and see if the problem is also for small file |

| When you look in File / Compilation Info what is the "big" file size in MB that you are trying to burn? Do you have "No Multisession" checked in the Multisession dialog of the New Compilation information? In the Burn dialog, is "Disk-at-Once" checked? In the Burn dialog, is "Buffer underrun protection" checked? What type of media and media length are you using? Is overburning enabled in File / Preferences / Expert Features and if so, what is the maximum CD length enabled? |

| Yes, I have an idea. ![]() If you are trying to burn 647 of data to a 74 minute (650 MB disk), you should not be burning in multisession. There is no point in using multisession, as you can't add any more sessions (and data) to the disk anyway. By using the multisession setting, you have unknowingly added 28 MB of overhead to the session, which is resulting in a total of 675 MB of data (647 + 28) to be burned. This is beyond the 650 MB capability of the disk and is causing the failure. Use the following settings: No multisession Disk-at-Once It doesn't have to be an audio CD. Multisession is a high overhead recording mode. The first session requires 28 MB of overhead, and each subsequent session requires another 13 MB. If you were burning smaller files and used 10 sessions, you would have only about 505 MB for the actual data after the overhead is deducted. If a lot of sessions are written, a packet written disk has less overhead than a multisession disk. Multisession should not be used unless you intend to write to the disk again. If the overhead requirements are not considered, it is common for multisession writes to fail when the remaining disk capacity is inadequate. Last edited by Inertia; 09-03-2002 at 04:49. |

| The CDR's are "failing" at fixation. Most of the time these "failures" are readable. Did you try to read the CDR's that "failed"? See the Nero Help Tool at Fixing failed If the disks are not readable, I would recommend uninstalling your current version and downloading the most recent Nero version 5.5.7.8 at the Nero Download Page. | polim, Since this is the same problem you had in the earlier thread, I have merged the threads to give some background and continuity to the situation. What kind of media are you using? Have you tried a different brand of good quality media? |

| Try disabling DMA for the burner and set it for PIO mode instead. Reboot and try burning again. See Device Settings Are Hard to Find in Windows XP (Q310751) for the settings location. |

| hi , i have made the change you have said , that work for 671Mb so i have tried with 683 Mb and that don't work ( in a 700 Mb CD-R ) , i saw in the log error again "Queuing failed" , i just buy another media ( TDK support 24 X speed ) and i can burn 647 Mb in a 650 Mb so finaly i don't know if you think it's a problem that i can only burn 671 Mb and not 683 Mb in a 700 Mb CD-R who worked fine before , anyway this is the log error of the 683 Mb failed CD-R Thank You for you idea ! | I think that you may have a problem with your chipset drivers. What kind of motherboard and chipset do you have? If you are not using the latest drivers, download and install the most recent chipset drivers for your motherboard. Reset the burner to DMA after doing this and try burning again. |
