after i installed nero my computer got crazy - Club CDFreaks

lo guys, first of all i'ld like to tanx u guys for any help u can provide me, and 2nd, please apologise my poor english

System:
intel p4 1.5
256 ram
OS XP
drives:
Lg 8400-b (40x max burning speed)
sony dru-500a

this is my problem:

i've installed, Roxio easy cd creator (latest version), alchool 120%, Fireburner, CloneCD and RecordNow Max, all of those proggies where working ok before i installed nero. after i installed nero my computer got crazy

i get burning speeds very lows on both drives, around 10\15x and my computer, when it is burning a cd gets reallyyyy slowwwww, even typing in Mirc gets impossible. With all this mess i've decided to uninstall nero but the problem persists, i've installed the latest adaptec ASPI drivers, but... the problem persists even with nero uninstalled :\. I've also noticed that when i'm burning a cd now the procedure its a little bit strange, it works like this: the hd loads a bit, then a cd burns a bit, then the hd loads again, and once again the cd burns a little bit, this keeps going until the cd its done. by the way, i've also used diferent cd brands.
so, comme on guys, can anyone help me out with this one ?? i'm really looking for an answer. tanx for any reply

Are you trying to run both DirectCD and InCD on the one system? That's not on. One of them has to go.

direct cd is not installed, and.. even with nero no longer present the problem persists.

Nero really should be overhauled and rewriten from scratch.

To many problems have arose with nero recently, though many people wouldn't see a reason for an overhaul but im sure there can be many advantages for everyone if it was remade.

Surely you know it's not Nero's problem when people can't make up their mind on which software to install and end up installing way too many programs, resulting in registry curruption among other things that can fsck up your system. Keep it simple and you'll have a lesser chance of encountering system errors. But then again, that's just me. I only 2 burning programs installed on winxp pro for the past year, CCD and Nero. Haven't encountered any system error yet.

Could be a DMA problem and not Nero's .. seems that the drive uses alot of the CPUs power when writing. Check your DMA settings for your drive.
