Just ordered two packs. This is the cheapest I've seen the Verbatims and I've been waiting to try them forever. I hope I get the same stellar results at 8x on my new BENQ 1640 as others seem to get...

I "tried" to use BUY.COM a couple years ago and cancelled my order when I was presented with a "handling charge". (not the shipping charge, that was EXTRA). Do they still do this or is it really $29.95 fo the 10 Pack of Verbs? (plus maybe sales tax?) Also, how fast is shipping when you use the "free" shipping? This is a KILLER DEAL if its really $30 for 10 DVD+R Dual Layer Verbs. $3 each. Nice.

The status of these now says "On Order" when you add it to the basket. Last time this happened, it took them almost 1 month to receive the items.

No handling charge. As I posted, you have to select budget shipping to get it free.

Looks like the free shipping is going to work out for me. I ordered 2 packs yesterday afternoon and got a trackingg number last night. They're scheduled for Friday delivery via FedEx home.

Anybody know the media code on these "2.4x-6x"? MKM 003?

Also, I noticed they also have really cheap 10pk TDK Lightscribe cdrs for $5.99 so I got two of them to try too.

But yeah, my last order with them never came, I waited a month and got an email that said they cancelled my order and gave me a refund. However for $26 a Verbatim DL 10pk I think its worth a try.

PS: I also got free shipping and no tax....

I think you are confusing buy.com with ecost.com, that site has some pretty hefty handling charges sometimes.

dual layer and double layer are loosely used to mean the same thing
bottom line is these disks are 8.5 gb on 2 layers

Dual layer (-R DL) isn't any better than +R DL in terms of compatibility, though.

I was hesitant about the deal, but the 10% off coupon convinced me.

I just got another email saying the Verbatim DL discs were shipped. When I ordered them they were on order so maybe its an error on their website. So anyone that wants to order them may end up getting them shipped the next day

The two 10 packs I ordered Tues afternoon were delivered this morning.

They don't have the "2.4x-6x" label on the box that's shown on Buy.com and on Verbatim's site but have the same 95166 Verbatim item # shown on both sites.

The media code is MKM001-000 and my BENQ 1640 shows 2.4x, 4x, 6x, 8x speeds. From other posts, it looks like the 1640 burns these well at 8x.

Now I just have to figure out what's worth burning on them...

I placed an order on 9-15 thinking it would ship some day... and it did that day. Even tho it said it was on order.

And today I went there and if you apply for thier Visa card you can save $30 on any order!

Oh and the price is now $32.31.

It was so tempting just to try and see what happens

I placed my order for 2 packs on Friday 9/16. They shipped the same day, and they arrived on Tuesday 9/20.

And that was with the free budget shipping. I wonder how much quicker they would have been if I had chosen one of the non-free upgraded shipping options.

Looking at the site this morning, I see that the price has gone up to $34.99 and they are "temporarily sold out".

There is no mention of free shipping but I guess it makes sense not to offer free shipping on something you don't have to sell. I hope they repeat this sale again when they get more stock in. I've been buying these for a year now and this was the best price I've seen so far.
