just back from bestbuy. tdk's 8x +r are made in tai and mij. the mij tdk's have a sticker over upc and cake box is a little dif. this has been documented in forum before. mij tdk 8x +r is ty. i picked up the 100 fuji 8x +r mij, with my bogo return and a 10% off coupon. less than $.10 a disc for ty's!!!

They still don't play right. Its just something about TY +R that the 2 players don't like. They both play optodisk and ricoh +R fine.

I checked their website and the -R is $80 so I guess the deal is for +R only.

Sharp DV-740
Samsung DVD-M101

The Sharp will play about half of them fine and the Samsung would play most of the movie fine but at the end it would skip and stop playing. Recently the Samsung has started skipping on all burnt DVDs and any CDs so I can't say its just TY anymore. But it was just TY at first.
