For those looking for import titles on HD-DVD

You might want to have a look at this site. It's spendy but for the odd must have title on your cost effective player it might be worth it:

Those titles are a bit expensive compared to Amazon, but Terminator II might be worth the cost in HD. I have the Toshiba A3 and love it. The standard DVD upconversion is great and has kept me from picking up a
Bluray. Thanks for the tip!

Do they have them on amazon? That's the whole issue is that these are titles you can't get on HD-DVD in the US.

Yeah, those titles are not US release, nor available on Amazon, but I've been used to the "firesale" prices of some HD DVD's on Amazon. I've been able to pick up a couple of dozen HD DVD moves (new) for under $10. Do an Amazon search of HD DVD and sort by price (low). Some private sellers are selling real low and I'm more than glad to take them off their hands. Just because Warner took $500 mil from Sony doesn't make those HD DVD movies obsolete. I may pick up an A35 if prices dip below $150. The Anchor Bay video chip in the A35 and A30 is better at SD-DVD up-conversion than the A3.

For the most part, the imported releases have outstanding picture and audio quality. Far better sometimes than even the same titles on US releases. HD audio is common, as are 4k transfers.

The French versions often times have superb picture quality beyond US and UK versions.
