Re: PLEASE READ ---- Online Shopping In Your Area

I know some people don't care for them, but every experience I've had (and it's been quite a few) with www.shop4tech.com has been outstanding. I generally only purchase RitekG04. They work flawlessly every time (aside from the occasional user error). Also they have an ongoing cupon code from Computer Shopper magazine. It is for 10% off. The code is CS10.

Re: PLEASE READ ---- Online Shopping In Your Area

Info for Canada:

Canada computers is a known Gray Market distributor and many of their products do not have an official warranty in Canada. Buyer beware. The prices are good though so it's all about what you want.

Staples is a good retail outlet for getting genuine T-Y CD-R and DVD-R with the FujiFilm brand name, though the prices are not the best. Last time I checked they had no high end DVD+R. Watch out though, they also stock some Prodisc FujiFilm CD-R so look for the "Made in Japan" mark.

Question for you, Mike... I noticed a few months ago when I was building my
new PC that ZipZoomFly had some excellent deals on hardware, especially
with the 2nd-day shipping offer. Have you had more than one good
experience with them? I would like to buy from them, but am hesitant to
go with anyone besides Newegg since Newegg has spoiled me with excellent
all-around service and products. Any data on ZipZoomFly would be
appreciated from you or other folk here.

Another one for Canada eh!

Super prices for media. I would dare say the cheapest around. They also have some r200's and awesome prices on replacement ink. I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with these folks. The company is called Media 'n' More. Here is the address:

ZipZoomFly is an e-tailer formerly known as Googlegear. Last time I checked, their track record was comparable to that of NewEgg. You can check for updated info at ResellerRatings.

Australia:

www.msy.com.au
* Extremely cheap prices
* Terrible site - the parts are in PDF
* Based in Melbourne, but have stores in Sydney and another place

www.i-store.com.au
* Reasonable prices
* Easy to navigate
* Not much info on items, though

It's the only place i've seen this sweet "case"....

I wouldn't bother looking for software there unless you are already buying some hardware as their software selection is decidedly less impressive.

They ship quickly and package things well. What more could you ask for
As far as the USA is concerned NewEgg for hardware and Best Buy for media can't be beat.

Re: PLEASE READ ---- Online Shopping In Your Area

In Canada for most of my components I use http://www.ncix.com/ . Good prices and great forums. I have bought my cases recently form here http://www.shoprbc.com/ca/index.php. There prices are usually competative but the $10.00 flat shipping rate on heavier items is hard to beat

Re: PLEASE READ ---- Online Shopping In Your Area

I like www.zipzoomfly.com great service and prices plus 2 day Fedx for hardware. They were etailer of the year 2004 and once I ordered a OEM burner and it sold out before it was packed and they substitued the retail version at same price. For cases and I use http://www.amamax.com/index.html as they have free ground shipping and for me that is 3 days.

Another retailer in the UK: Disk Depot

Cheaper for most products than the other UK retailers especially with RitekG04 disks, and their delivery options are excellent for UK and ireland too:

http://www.diskdepot.co.uk

Highly recommended

Info for UK - maybe wider delivery i've never checked

Best 2 shops i know are:-

http://www.scan.co.uk/
&
http://www.microdirect.co.uk/

I also use
http://www.charismauk.co.uk/
but thats mainly cos its easiest to get to when i need stuff in a hurry, the other 2 offer a much wider range.

Re: PLEASE READ ---- Online Shopping In Your Area

In the US:
I would second supermedia as a solid source for DVD media and hardware as I have bought stuff from them before and they ship quickly and have a decent customer support in place:

http://www.supermediastore.com/index.html

This store sells Taiyo Yuden in larger bulk packaging (i.e. >50/pack) than Newegg for a decent price. Just did a quick comparison on both sites and it seems that supmediastore is a little more expensive than newegg (~$1 more for exactly the same TY product including tax and shipping).

I have ordered from Tiger Direct once without problem. Two of my friend had a very hard time getting the offered rebates. Be Sure to read the rebate forms completely and comply with all the requirements.
