www.burnsmart.com is where I get all my CD/DVD media. I live in Orange County, California. I don't have to pay for shipping! Burnsmart.com offers local pick-ups.

I've been doing biz with Newegg for years now and they seem to bend over backwards to do what's right for their customers. I have bought mostly computer related stuff with an occasional CD/DVD drive and/or recorder. I've always been satisfied even when a product was defective.

Re: PLEASE READ ---- Online Shopping In Your Area

I have a couple to add for Canada. I've found tigerdirect is more expensive than ncix on average. However since ncix is in Western Canada (I'm in Western Canada) I'd imagine shipping times might be a little longer to Eastern Canada than tigerdirect.

ncix.com
- large volume dealer = good prices
- good customer service
- mailing list has good sales
- average shipping time and decent shipping prices

memoryexpress.com (personal experience is in store only, Calgary and Edmonton)
- good local supplier with cheaper prices if you exclude shipping
- only 7 day return policy
- good customer service
- unknown shipping times (only dealt with locally)

Re: PLEASE READ ---- Online Shopping In Your Area

I just found out a little more about NCIX and why some people outside of BC really like them. If you order from NCIX and don't live in BC, you don't have to pay any PST. I can see this being pretty useful for big purchases! In Alberta I don't have to worry about that since we don't have PST, but for other areas it's good to know.

Re: PLEASE READ ---- Online Shopping In Your Area

Anyone have any good suggestions for purchasing media in Ireland, Dublin specfically. Brick and Mortar store suggestions would be great, but mail order would also be ok.

The UK shops for some of the links I've looked through in this thread that ship to Ireland have really high prices for Taiyo Yuden media compared to the other media prices. Is that normal for Europe? I might need to find some other decent media to recommend.

Backstory:
I have a friend with a business who made a great video out of a trip to Africa and sent it to everybody on RitekG05 discs. Needless to say, 6 months later the DVD is no longer readable at all. I was lucky I was able to get the media type info out of it.
