PioData 8X DVD-R 4.7GB (Possibly TY) Sale at Meritline.com

http://store.yahoo.com/meritline/pio...r-branded.html

I just saw this as part of Meritline's 3 day sale which ends in about 17 hours from now. You can get 50 discs for $42.50 or 100 for $79.00. I know that Meritline has recieved some bad press on this site, but I just wanted to point this out. This has been reported to be Taiyo Yuden Media by www.videohelp.com and here is the media code they show:

Complete Media Code (DVDInfoPro/ DVDIdentifier):
00 00 00 00 01 40 c1 fd 9e d8 52 00 02 87 0d 10 .....@....R.....
66 78 80 00 03 54 59 47 30 32 00 00 04 00 00 00 fx...TYG02......
00 00 00 00 05 aa a2 22 22 20 02 00 06 08 0e 11 ......."" ......

Here is Meritline's Compatibility Chart for PioData 8X DVD-R
DVD Burner Model Speed Firmware Software Recommended
Pioneer DVR-107/A07 1X - 8X 1.10 Nero 6.0
NEC ND-2500A 1X - 8X - Nero 6.0

I don't know whether to get this media or get 30 more Maxell 4X DVD-R from Office Depot for about $26. At least with the Maxell's, I would know what I am purchasing. Anybody know if PioData still uses TY for 8X DVD-R media or if this is crappy second-hand TY stuff?

Update: I just visted this web page:

http://www.shop4tech.com/user.htm?go...ta=1&s_cata=88

which shows unbranded bulk PioData as Ritek G05. I am not sure if this means the branded ones will be Ritek G05 or not. I have been thinking about getting a 50 pack of TY 4X DVD+R from ACCA products for $65 so that I can use bitsetting and be positive of getting TY. Here is the link for that:
