Re: OT: Good deals on LCD Monitors?

You also should check out www.newegg.com as they have some great deals and they ship fast as well. I ordered a 19" Acer lcd monitor tuesday morning and got it today at noon. Now that is fast. Of course I live in the So Cal area where they are also located, but they do offer some good deals.

Try these:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...tby=14&order=1
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...180-020&depa=1
I have them both and you would be happy with either.

Re: OT: Good deals on LCD Monitors?

You could always try www.ebuyer.com They have an acer model for just over $200.

I would suggest you heavily research the monitor you end up getting before buying. Things like contrast ratio, viewing angle, response time, and whether it has an analogue or digital connection might effect what you want.

I spent 2 weeks reading up on things before buying my 19" LCD monitor, and it plays counterstrike and movies without blurring,

After physically going to BB and CC and even Office Depot, I think I can say that the monitor I want is the Samsung 710N. Crisp picture, people look like people (my old monitor gives them a purple-ish hue) and I can find it for under $300. I think I found my true love.

http://product.samsung.com/cgi-bin/n...d_id=MJ17ASSBY

BTW, Newegg has this puppy for $239 after instant and MIR's

Re: OT: Good deals on LCD Monitors?

I just got an Envision 17" from CompUSA for $179.00 after rebates. Not sure if i have found my true love.... but i have 21 days from today to see if it will work out between us. My main complaint, and i know this is probably a stupid one.... is that it is so bright, and yes i have turned down the brightness. It is hard to explain....it's really vivid? Maybe that is it. Not sure i like it yet, but will let you know once i decide.

Re: OT: Good deals on LCD Monitors?

If I have two choices with specs like below:

LCD1 vs LCD2
Respond time: 25ms -- 12ms
Brightness: 280cd/m -- 300cd/m
Contrast: 1000:1 -- 600:1
Warranty: 3yr -- 3yr
Price: both around $230
Other specs are similar.

Which one would you choose?

Re: OT: Good deals on LCD Monitors?

I would not recommend the DELL E173FP 17" LCD, its decent but I just think you could get better.

Unless you can find one on E-bay, and snag one. I saw two go for under $150 last week. Brand New.

Actually LCD1 is Dell 1704FVP Ultrasharp and LCD2 is Samsung 710N.

Re: OT: Good deals on LCD Monitors?

i highly recommend Viewsonics if you're in the market for an LCD. yes, you pay a bit of a premium, but the build quality, performance and features are top notch. i have the VP201s but the newer 17 and 19in models are, from what i've read in both official reviews and user experiences, both excellent LCDs. the Pro series is what i would recommend: http://www.viewsonic.com/products/de...series/vp171b/

Re: OT: Good deals on LCD Monitors?

Ok i have had mine for 3 days now, and i just sent in the rebates. I really like it. After tweaking it to get it to what is comfortable for my eyes. Mine has a 16ms for gaming. http://www.envisiondisplay.com/produ...s&SMenu=en7410

http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...020&pfp=BROWSE
So i would say thumbs up to the Envision 17"LCD at CompUSA.

Re: OT: Good deals on LCD Monitors?

I picked up thre Samsung from Newegg. Now, it's actually $229 after rebate instead of $239 like I got. It kicks ass, plain and simple. But after looking at a 15" CTX monitor for about 5 years, anything kicks ass.

Re: OT: Good deals on LCD Monitors?

Ok now what is a good video card for dual monitor system that you guys recommend? I mean "just" good not excellent for gamings, perhaps around $150 or less? Both of my LCDs have DVI inputs.
