I picked up 100 ea.16x + & - silver top from Shop4Tech about a month ago. the + are pristine but the - have a few nicks and what appears to be a few specs of dust imbedded in the dye because you can't get rid of them with a blast of gas duster but even still most of them burn well. I hope your printables are in nice condition, I have gotten TY printable with spots around the dye side outer edges from these guys before.

Samsung Pleomax ones are excellent +R or -R with -R having lower jitter.

Because my bad optodisc's looked like those specs were overspray, if in fact the Inkjet coating is sprayed on.

I have been looking for Sony Yudens for long time.
My local Staples at South Bay area are all out of Sony Yudens.
In fact they do not carry any Sony DVDs at all for last few months I believe since December.
I am all out of Sony Yudens now and I need more.
Somehow I get much better result with Sony Yudens than unbranded Rima bulky or even Thats branded one.
I ordered two spindles of Thats from Japan because I caannot find any Sony Yudens last month and tried half of them.
Maybe it is due to long distance postal shipping, there are several scratches and overal burning result are not that good.
And most importantly shipping cost too much, in fact more than the cost of media itself.
So if you know any Staples in Southern California, preferably in greater LA area, please let me know to get some.

Yes, we know. There is no affordable or easily available Pleomax Optodisc in the states. That's why we don't talk about it. We're happy for you though.

No problem, external enclosures, computer handles it fine, quad core 3 gig oc'd to 3.33 and 4 gig memory oc'd to 1066
I usually do not power up all of them at the same time. Might add 2 more drives

You know Rima is pretty close from me and there's no difference between normal and next day delievery to me from them.
But somehow their T02 quality seems decreased.
I do not have any idea on TYG02 since I don't use -R at all.
I used to order from Rima even though I had Sony Yuden and Thats in stock, only because I like the smell better. (Seriously only this bulk thing has this fruity smell. Not even Thats branded one has any smell at all)
But since the middle of last year, I had no good experience with Rima order. Retail Verbie seems better than those bulk T02 these day. Maybe its my luck receiving bad batches for last few months?

Anyway Sony Yuden has never been disappointed me, that's why I asked.

Unfortunately there are fakes all over the place here that are MIC with UME MID with the same UPC as MIT (Isn't that illegal fake ?)

So many fakes seem to come from China. They may be technically illegal, but I think Chinese officials tend to at those kinds of illegalities.

Yes, I would think thats illegal, but try to arrest someone. Most of the countrys these are manufactored in have alot more to worry about than illegal discs.

Are you talking about fake Pleomax media? Because UME disc is officialy making OEM media for Samsung and therefore Pleomax media with UME or AML MID are legit and legal...

Indeed. Samsung, Imation, and other brands no longer use Optodisc media. Any Optodisc you find under those labels is old stock. The only practical option left for getting genuine Optodisc is unbranded bulk, which is what this thread is about.

How do these do with a samsung 203n? I have been using cheap media by playo and nexxtech.

They did the best with my LG H22N but do VERY VERY well with the 203N.

Received them on Monday and they look real good no really bad looking spots on them
except the top 2 discs on one of the spindles had a couple of very small spots/scratches
on them but that is to be expected when being shipped over a long distance.

Recieved my shiny top pack yesterday physically the disks were perfect except for the top disk which had a small scratch on the top.
3 successful burns, 3 coasters so far.
I miss my Aritas =(

It's often that case that in any spindle of media, especially 100-packs, the top and bottom disks have some scratches or defects. I find that even in 50-packs. You always have to double-check the first disk off the top, and the last one when it's empty.
